Later Life Is Not a Deficit to Be Measured

Two editions sit here, In Aging Well and LiveWell for brain health, and both start from what a person still has and still wants, rather than from what has been lost. That is a decision about the questions, and it changes what comes back.

Accessibility is the feature

An Older-adult Pass, Not a Font-size Slider

Larger targets, higher contrast, plainer sequencing, and read-aloud in seventeen languages. Three ways to answer (conversational, cards or a classic form), so the format is never the reason a response is missing. If someone cannot complete the evaluation, nothing else on the platform matters.

Organisations that have run the evaluation (sometimes called a wellbeing survey for older adults) include LiveWell, Ballycara, Bay County Medical Care Facility and Communities of Wellbeing.

360°

The People Around Someone See a Different Picture

Spouses, adult children, nurses, doctors, carers and allied health can each contribute their own view through the 360 Foundry. Their views are aggregated, with a redaction floor, so no single rater is identifiable. Where a person's self-report and their carers' view diverge is usually where the conversation needs to start.

What it measures

What In Aging Well Measures

Nine Amplifiers

Ability, motivation, psychological safety, resilience, belonging, purpose, learning and health among them.

Self-Compassion

Self-talk, mindfulness and connection.

Life Satisfaction

How a person rates their life as a whole, beside the PERMAH+ pillars.

Modifiable Risk Reflection

Optional. The 14 modifiable dementia risk factors from the 2024 Lancet Commission, across past, present and future.

Ways to see a score

Brain Health, Factor by Factor

LiveWell shows each brain health factor, from Move and Sleep to Live with Purpose, as a glass brain filling towards its mark. There is no population average here, so each one shows its own level. Switch to bars, or open the Orbit view, which lays the factors out as a network in 3D or as a 2D hierarchy and flags any below a healthy line.

Sample results, not from a real person or client.

Questions

Questions People Ask

What is the difference between In Aging Well and LiveWell?

They are the same evaluation told two ways: PERMAH+ language, or the six LiveWell pillars. See the two side by side.

Can family and carers take part?

Yes. Spouses, adult children, nurses, doctors, carers and allied health can each add their own view through the 360 Foundry, aggregated so no single rater is identifiable.

Is it accessible for older adults?

Larger targets, higher contrast, plainer sequencing and read-aloud in seventeen languages, with three ways to answer.

Does it screen for dementia?

No. The optional Modifiable Risk Reflection asks people to reflect on known risk factors. It makes no diagnosis.
