Ask the Results a Question

A score and a colour tell you where you are. They do not tell you what to do next, and most people do not ask, because there is nobody to ask. Let’s Talk puts Mia, our wellbeing assistant, beside the results, reading the same figures the reader sees. Type a question or say it aloud, and she answers in plain language.

How it works

It Starts from the Results, Not from a Blank Box

  1. 1

    Three suggested areas

Mia opens with “our suggestions to focus on are…”, then the three areas in these results most worth attention, each one a click away from what it means. Then the conversation is the reader’s.

  2. 2

    Typed or spoken

Ask by keyboard or by microphone. Replies can be read aloud, and Mia can appear as a face on screen for those who prefer to talk to someone rather than to a text box.

  3. 3

    By phone

The tab shows a number and a six-digit call code that lasts a day. Nothing about anyone’s wellbeing is said until the code verifies. Every call is transcribed into the same record and counted against included minutes: 15, 30, 45 or 60 for the licence term.

  4. 4

In the vault and the dashboard

Respondents talk about their own results. Administrators talk about their organisation’s, opening from the three cohort-level areas. The two conversations are built on two different sets of figures, deliberately.

The boundary

What Mia Is Given Is Decided by the Server, Not by the Prompt

In the vault, Mia has one person’s own results and nothing else. In the dashboard she has whole-cohort figures only: no individual’s answers, no free-text comments, no breakdown by team, role or any other slice, and the same minimum-response floor the dashboards apply. That is enforced in what the server assembles for her. A rule stated in a prompt is only a request, and a figure that was never handed over cannot be repeated.

Nothing a person writes or says to Mia is shared with their employer, and she says so at the start of every conversation. The transcript stays where the results are: in the individual’s vault, or with the organisation’s dashboard.

Safety

An Assistant, Not a Counsellor: And Checked Before She Answers

Every message, and every spoken turn on the phone, is checked before Mia replies. Where something a person says may mean they are at risk, she pauses to check in before anything else. Where the signal is clear she gives the helplines for their country, and on the phone reads them twice and ends the call. She does not diagnose, does not give medical, legal or financial advice, and says plainly what she is.

Where it is

Adult Editions, and Never the Children’s

The typed and spoken conversation is available in the vault on the Workplace, University, Sport, Veterinary, Life, Aging Well and LiveWell editions, and in the dashboard on every adult edition. The phone line is available on the same seven editions, for individuals and for administrators. On LiveWell she is called Spark Assistant. Neither is offered on the Kids or Students editions, and that is a decision rather than a gap.
